- Has anyone running os/2 been able to flash their power? I had no
- success, as my com2 address is different than the default and the flash
- program would not accept a user-defined value. Additionally, the xmodem
- method worked fine up until the very end, at which point it bombed,
- putting the power into its "failsafe" mode. The com port was locked at
- 57600 (incidentally, why should 115200 not work?). I eventually had to
- boot to a straight dos session in order to flash the unit to rev.4.
- There are some other issues that I'd like to receive feedback on:
-
- o fax/data adaptive answering.
-
- I run a bbs with a frontend mailer. With the 1496e+ (and other
- models), the modem would send an identifiable string back to the
- host computer, which I could capture and act upon in order to
- receive a fax. Does the power do something similar? If not, are
- there any plans to include such a feature?
-
- o early speaker cutoff.
-
- I'm big on listening to negotiation tones, as it alerts me to
- various things (hung sessions, busy signals, improper speeds, etc.).
- The power seems to shut the speaker off about 1 second into the
- negotiation process. How can I get the speaker to stay on during
- the entire process?
